Victoria Rubadiri lands top role at CNN international

Kenyan senior news anchor and reporter Victoria Rubadiri has landed a top role in the leading multinational news channel, CNN International. She will be joining the multiplatform series, Connecting Africa which is in its 5th year.

Rubadiri will be joining the team to cover emerging stories from Africa and to report on businesses across the continent, focusing on the impacts of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement. The show is hosted by CNN anchor and correspondent Eleni Giokos.

“I’m extremely excited for the opportunity to work at CNN and to bring my experience and passion to its global audience. Connecting Africa champions the people, projects and companies revolutionising African business and I’m looking forward to working alongside Eleni and the team to get out on the ground and tell these stories,” she said.

Rubadiri is joining CNN International after 6 years of diligent service at Nairobi’s Citizen TV. She is a journalist with an impressive career in both radio and TV. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Temple University in Philadelphia.

Top NTV presenter to replace Victoria Rubadiri at Citizen TV

In 2020, Victoria Rubadiri received the BBC World News Komla Dumor Award in recognition of her talent in telling African stories. She joins Kenyan journalist Larry Madowo in the CNN ranks.

To honour her exit from the Royal Media Services station, the staff cut a cake. Rubadiri joins the list of top journalists who have left Citizen TV for other roles. They include Waihiga Mwaura, Hassan Mugambi and Chemutai Goin.
