Google has explained the mistakes that led to the termination of Andrew Kibe’s YouTube Channel. The controversial content creator lost his YouTube channel which had close to 500k subscribers.
Responding to the termination, Head of Communications at Google Africa Dorothy Ooko said Kibe tricked the video-sharing platform by uploading videos using a secondary channel.
The content creator moved to upload videos using a secondary account after he was restricted from using his primary account for violation of YouTube’s terms of service.
“Kibe violated YouTube’s Terms of Service. While he was restricted from using YouTube features, including uploading videos on his channel, he used another channel to get around these restrictions, aka circumvention, resulting in termination of all his channels,” Ooko said in an X post.

Ooko was responding to X user Marian Wairimu, who had called out YouTube for terminating Kibe’s channels.
“Cancel culture cannot be allowed to take root in content creation. Andrew Kibe’s termination of YouTube accounts is not about his message but a direct attack on the creative. Restore his accounts. Say no to cancel culture,” Mariam wrote.
On his part, Kibe refuted Ooko’s claims, arguing that he did not receive any email indicating violations.
“Sounds so pedestrian. Can you show me the emails of the violations? That is the procedure, right? I mean, there is no way YouTube permanently blocks any channel that has more than 3000 videos with no paper trail?”Kibe wrote on X.
The YouTuber had amassed a huge following on his YouTube accounts, which was almost hitting 500k subscribers. Immediately after the termination, he directed his fans to a new platform where his content will be streaming.
