Other people just prefer congregating in bars and public places to watch football rather than subscribe to DSTV. In the long run, very few real customers will remain.
So what’s the solution?
Cutting costs isn’t going to help anyone in the long run. What Mutichoice needs to do is allow clients to set up a package of their own choosing. For example, if you are a Manchester United fan, you should be able to subscribe to something like a ‘Red Devil’package that allows you to watch all Man United games in the season for the season for lets say 2K a month. Or if you only want football, you just get a package of football alone minus everything else. No reality TV or movies. Just football for a lesser amount.
I am pretty sure many people would sign up for such deals, hence millions of customers and more profits. It’s the logical thing to do otherwise there’s a dark future ahead. Forcing people to pay for channels they don’t watch won’t work forever.
It’s like someone selling a basket full of mangoes and only three oranges in it. You don’t like mangoes, but you love oranges. However, they tell you that you can’t buy the oranges alone. You have to take the whole basket. So you buy the basket, eat the oranges and throw away all the mangoes. Such a bad deal isn’t it?
