Willis Raburu Lands a Mega Role at TV 47 After Exiting Citizen TV

Former Citizen TV anchor and show host Willis Raburu has landed a new role at TV 47, days after exiting the Royal Media Services-owned station.

In a statement on Tuesday, August 22, Raburu expressed his gratitude for his new assignment at TV 47. He will be hosting a show dubbed ‘Wabebe Xperience’ every Friday.

 “Welcome to the new journey… The wait is over! Announcing my partnership with TV 47 Kenya! WABEBE! #WabebeXP… I’m excited to be joining Kenya’s fastest-growing media house, TV47,” Raburu stated.

Raburu announced his exit from Citizen TV on June 26 after 13 years. The former 10 Over 10 show host said he wants to take a break and fully focus on his Master’s of Strategic Communications and Communications for Development at the United States International University (USIU).

“I want to rest, I want to take a breather. Step back, look at everything, share the knowledge I have on the book, and also continue with my Master’s at USIU, which is on Strategic Communication and also Communication Development. So, for now, that remains my focus.” He said.

Raburu joined Citizen Tv in 2010 as an intern. Before his exit, he worked as a reporter, news anchor, and TV presenter both for Citizen TV and Hot 96.

Throughout his journalism career, Raburu has won multiple awards for some of the human interest stories he has done, including The Road Safety Award for “Killer Drivers’ Series, the Maji Awards for his series “Deadly Waters,” and The Children Rights Awards for a Rwanda series on the journey of resilient children.
