22-year-old Nairobi woman sends suicide note to boss, jumps from 6th floor

Co-Op post

Early on Friday morning, at 2 am, a woman attempted to take her own life by jumping off a six-storey building in Parklands, Nairobi.

The 22-year-old lady barely survived and has been hospitalized after her suicide mission was cut short when she fell on a car windscreen narrowly escaping death’s unruly grip.

“She escaped death with serious cuts on her body but we hope she will not die,” said a Parklands police officer.

The lady lived with her sister in the same building where she attempted to commit suicide. After landing rather safely from atop the building, she was immediately rushed to the hospital for a medical check-up.

With suicidal thoughts lingering over her mind, the young woman reportedly wrote her boss and family each a suicide note.

Details of the letters are not revealed however, the suicidal notes apparently indicate that the young lady was frustrated with everyone around her since they did not listen to her.

Police are waiting for the young woman who is fighting for her life in the Nairobi hospital to regain her conscience and initiate their interrogations on the girl.

Unknown to many, attempted suicide in Kenya is a criminal offense punishable by a severe jail term.

The government has urged Kenyans to seek out alternative problem-solving techniques including talking to a psychiatrist about their difficulties as the number of suicide incidents in the nation has increased.
