Yangkey Printers has come to the aid of young Kenyans aged below 35 years who are contesting for various political seats in the upcoming General Elections.
The branding and design company that has built a name as the largest campaign and promos printing service providers in Kenya is offering a 30 per cent discount to Kenyans seeking for political branding. The company is also offering free calendars, free banners, free delivery countrywide and extra merchandise for anyone under 35 vying for any political seat
This offer comes irrespective of the party the candidate is affiliated with.
Yangkey Printing Services chief executive officer Douglas Magwata explains that the business has decided to make this offer as a way of easing the burden of finances of young Kenyans and also to encourage more youth to run for political offices.
“Kenya is set to hold the most expensive general election in Africa. This means that the majority of young aspirants will be unable to contest due to the huge finances involved,” he says.
Magwata adds that beyond the free banners and 30 per cent discounts, the company shall offer free consultations for online and outdoor advertising to maximize on the advertisers’ returns.
In a boost to green renewable energy, the company will buy back and recycle unused merchandise at the end of the campaign period.
“We also have a team that removes posters from walls for free. We have machines that can remove paints from t-shirts and caps and leave them spotlessly clean for some other markets in Africa,” says Magwata. “I admit that politics is a costly affair. But we are committed to demystify the idea that politics is a preserve of the rich, so that more youths can be at the helm of leadership.”
