24 year old running a successful emceeing brand

If you thought being an MC and Public speaker is a low income generating career then you have to think twice. The likes of Ivix D. Kioi are making a fortune out of this amazing career.

However, this is not a career for everyone, you have to be well talented and gifted to perfect the art of public speaking. The work as well requires a lot of hard work, sacrifice and creativity.

Ivix D Kioi shares his career journey during his interview with Bizna Kenya.

“My name is Ivix D Kioi, I am a Corporate and Fashion MC, and I also speak at events mostly to young people especially for empowerment.” Ivix has spoken to a number of various students in Kenyan schools and to many Youth events in the country. He started doing business when he was 18years old. And right now, he is a well-established entrepreneur, MC and public speaker.

Ivix also owns a company dealing with the selling of men accessories e.g. ties, bowties, happy socks and other details that go with the whole outfit.  He also runs a digital media company based here in Nairobi.

“I love business because that is what paid my brother’s and my school fees.”

What enabled Ivix to come this far is his tradition of surrounding himself with successful people, emulating and learning from them what it takes to be successful.

“One of my best experience so far was when I was and MC at an all women in leadership forum held in 2015, where in attendance included wives of top government officials and politicians in the country. I got to interact and made great connections with great people.”

Ivix was also an MC at the Kenyan Fashion Awards.

“One of the main challenges I have faced is that Corporates don’t take you seriously when you are young. But I think this is due to us young people not carrying ourselves seriously. When you don’t carry yourself seriously then no one will take you seriously. We must learn how to present ourselves well when meeting clients”

“Another challenge is Corporates underpaying us because we are young. They think we are young and don’t have much responsibilities. This is not right.”

His advice to young entrepreneurs; “Learn how to be patient. Your business will take some time before it grows. Hang in there and don’t give up!”
