Inside Wetangula's multi-milllion 360° Court Apartments investment in Syokimau

Moses Wetangula, the 8th speaker of the National Assembly, is one of the wealthiest politicians in the country.

Wetangula’s roles as MP, minister, senator, and now speaker, along with his chairmanship of the Parliamentary Service Commission, have allowed him to amass wealth worth billions of shillings.

Moses Wetangula prefers to maintain a humble and private lifestyle despite his wealth and influence. He has managed to keep his riches out of the public eye.

In spite of his efforts to maintain privacy, several reports have previously linked him to investments in a multi-million property in Syokimau. Rich investors, including the current speaker, usually favour the area.

Reportedly, he possesses more than 12 multi-story apartment blocks at 360° Court Apartments.

The facility offers ultra-modern social amenities and is conveniently located just 5 kilometres away from the regional transport hub, JKIA as well as 20 kilometres away from the Nairobi CBD.

The apartments are available in two types: 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom units. Each apartment has high-quality fittings, a spacious lounge, a dining area, a kitchen, a common bathroom, and a large utility area.

360° Court Apartments offers residents a secure living environment with a perimeter wall and electric fence. Security staff are available round the clock. The complex also has cabro-paved driveways and backup generators for common areas.

Other features include:

  • Each flat with its own parking area
  • Vitrified tiles in the house
  • Children’s playground
  • UPVC windows and solar bulbs

In 2012, the real estate project faced a rough patch when Syokimau residents raised concerns about its construction on riparian land. A legal tussle ensued which led to a court order by Justice L.N Mutende to halt construction of two blocks.

The court further directed the proprietors to modify the perimeter wall for better drainage. In 2021, the estate was back in the headlines after residents woke up to flooding following a night of heavy rains.

Hundreds counted losses as the water swept away furniture and destroyed electronics, especially for those living on the ground floors. Many car owners in the area had their goose cooked after their vehicles were submerged by water.
