61 cars and 24 motorcycles already entered for the CBA Africa Concours D’elegance

Already the Alfa Romeo Owners Club has received 61 car and 24 motorcycle entries for the CBA Africa Concours d’Elegance scheduled for September 25th at the Nairobi Racecourse. The Concours is rated as the classiest event on the motor sport calendar. The Concours gives enthusiasts the opportunity to showcase their meticulously prepared machines and have them assessed by experienced officials. The best are recognized by the overall prizes and awards in the 20 classes for all makes and types of cars and bikes.

Among the star entries which will grab the attention of spectators at the Nairobi Racecourse on September 25thare the 1949 Bentley MK VI of Roger Tanner, Paul Chemngorem’s 1962 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia and the 1972 Mercedes Benz 450SL classic rally car owned and prepared by Marzio Kravos who will be contesting the Concours under the sponsorship of DT Dobie. The massive motorcycles which will be ridden round the parade ring include the 2001 Honda Shadow of Prateek Singh Gulati and Sandeep Gill’s 2002 Yamaha Vista.

Speaking at a status press conference, Chris Pasha, the Group Head of Marketing at CBA said, “Five years ago the Commercial Bank of Africa commenced sponsoring the Concours because the event mirrors the character and objectives of our organization. Both are active, vibrant and continually developing.”

“It is a matter of great satisfaction to the bank that our long term agreement with the Alfa Romeo Owners Club for the title sponsorship has helped to raise the already high standards of content and organization and has encouraged competitors to locate and restore more cars and bikes. Already entries have been received from South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda to give Kenya based participants a basis for comparison.

In addition to the judging of the classic and vintage cars and motorcycles contesting the Concours, the event features the Auto Expo consisting of 28 motor trade stands and a Classic Car and Motorcycle Sale.
