Arsenal’s glorious days back? Investment in team pays off

Arsenal

After years of demands from the Arsenal faithful that the management invests more funds in the team, the club’s hierarchy has finally responded in the affirmative and the results are there to see, with nine wins in 10 league matches.

Arsenal, that which was considered a mid-table team is today threatening to vie for the title, and should they miss that, a place back in the Champions League will still be in their sights.

There is belief in the way the team plays and there is confidence in the way the team has been handling opponents. Writing off the team can be the fashionable thing to do, based on their past performances, but that may be the wrong thing to do.

Arsenal is grinding out results even when playing badly, and that is a factor that the Gunners’ competitors must fear.

With just one loss in their opening 10 matches in the league, and three wins in three Europa League games, betting on Arsenal on the top sites, like Bwin, which comes with great odds, proves to be a good move, and of course with such you can take advantage of the Bwin welcome offer, which is previewed in detail on Wincomparator.

All of the players signed during the summer at Arsenal have proven to be worth the investment. Gabriel Jesus has been the catalyst to the change seen at the Emirates, bringing the big team mentality to the Gunners.

His mate, Oleksandr Zinchenko has also been great though slowed down by injury. He is the only one yet to score, among the outfield players signed by Arteta but from his performances, we can’t say that state will last for so long.

Matt Turner has played three times in the Europa League and kept two clean sheets, Marquinhos has scored in the Europa League and Fabio Vieira has scored in both league and the Europa League.

Frenchman William Saliba has been a revelation at the team after several loan spells. He has started all 10 league matches and scored two goals, which is quite impressive for a defender.

This coming after Arteta’s deliberate clean-up to reduce the wage bill at the team is a marker of the shrewd manager he is and the future can only be brighter. Arteta has within three years, overseen the departures of Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexander Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe, Sead Kolasinac, and Hector Bellerin among many other senior players who were thought to be slowing down the team.

There is an emergence of new stars; Gabriel Martnelli now can express himself more and has contributed immensely to Arsenal’s improvement on the left flank and in the middle, Martin Odegaard can command the pace of play even better.

With the talk of more investment in players in January 2023, Arsenal will be able to address the issue of depth, which they still lack, compared with the teams they are expected to compete against, like Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, and even Chelsea and Manchester United.
