Ndindi Nyoro cuts day secondary fees in Kiharu to Sh. 1,000 per term

Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has announced that all day secondary school students in his constituency will now pay Sh. 1,000 per term only.

This follows a funding program that the MP has roled to subsidize the cost if education in his constituency.

Th is programme has been dubbed Kiharu Masomo Bora and will benefit 14,000 students. It will benefit both students in mixed day and boarding secondary schools.

The programme is supported by the Kiharu National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF), which has allocated Sh. 60 million this financial year for infrastructural development and to revamp the existing infrastructure in the day schools.

The programme by Nyoro has also allocated Sh. 10 million for revision materials for day secondary schools in the constituency.

In addition to this, the programme will change feeding schedule for learners who will now take tea or porridge at 10 o’clock and lunch in school.

The lunch menu will now include three days of rice and three days of githeri per week.
