Kenyan living in US "Airbnb" Christantus Omondi kills delivery man

A Kenyan national living in Fortworth, Texas has been detained by police and charged with murder after allegedly attacking and killing a delivery man.

The 27-year-old Kenyan man, identified as Christantus Omondi is said to have attacked 51-year-old delivery man Scotty Jackson, as per the police report filed in Texas.

The altercation arose after the delivery man brought a shipment of firewood to Omondi’s neighbour. The neighbour told the police that the assailant approached them naked while offloading the firewood from the truck.

Omondi claimed that they were trespassing on his property. Angered by their actions, he took a piece of wood and hit Jackson with it before chasing the neighbour, who luckily found refuge in his house and called 911.

“When pursuing me and attacking me, I was looking at death in the face,” the witness explained.

As per the Texas police report, Omondi returned to where the delivery man lay on the ground and beat him to death with a piece of wood from the truck.

He then returned to his rented room – commonly referred to as “Airbnb” but not the actual Airbnb company – along the same street and attempted to break into a woman’s room adjacent to the one he had booked.

Police arrived at the scene and said that Omondi was ‘non-compliant and aggressive’ towards them, forcing them to use a Taser to pin him down.

Residents in the area confirmed that the 27-year-old Kenyan had booked the room a day before the murder occurred.

The delivery man’s daughter, Kasey Deleon, who lived with him is said to have informed her boyfriend that his father was missing after failing to return home that day.

“I remember telling my boyfriend that something was wrong, and my dad always calls me,” Kasey lamented.

“I will never be able to call my dad again or see him, I hope justice will be served.”

It turns out that Christantus Omondi has had a previous criminal record such as evading arrest, and holding a security guard at gunpoint.

He is now held at the Tarrant County jail with multiple charges including murder. His bond amount was set at $300,000.
