Member of Parliament for Mumias East Constituency Peter Salasya has shared his pay slip that shows how deductions on his gross salary leave him with just Sh. 2,000 every month. The pay slip Salasya shared was for the month of June 2024.
It was deposited in a Family Bank account. According to the pay slip, the Member of Parliament has a basic salary of Sh. 435,301.
He then gets administrative allowance of Sh. 140,201, house allowance of Sh. 150,000, sitting allowance of Sh. 67,500, telephone allowance of Sh. 15,000 and vehicle fixed cost allowance of Sh. 356,525. This amounts to a total gross pay of Sh. 1,164,527.
The pay slip the indicates that Salasya’s deductions include Pay As You Earn (PAYE) of Sh. 360,466.60, NHIF deductions of Sh. 1,700, Staff Pension Fund of Sh. 54,847.90, Housing Levy of Sh. 16,455.40, Ration and Messing Sh. 4,640, KYPA Sh. 5,000, Car Loan Sh. 85,981.10.
The deductions go further with Bucoso Deposits of Sh. 10,000, Pacoso Housing Shares of Sh. 10,000, Mortgage deductions of Sh. 541,947, Car loan life insurance of Sh. 1,124.70, and Pacoso shares of Sh. 70,000.
