The government has announced over 200,000 jobs for youths in various counties across the country.
Speaking during the Nairobi River Regeneration project launch in Nairobi, President William Ruto said that 200,000 individuals would be absorbed into the environment sustainability program.
The Head of State explained that the government would first employ about twenty thousand youth from Nairobi in the Climate WorX Mtaani Initiative before progressing to other counties.
Other counties to be among the first beneficiaries of the program, expected to begin on October 1, are Nakuru, Kisumu, Mombasa, and Uasin Gishu.

“The initiative will start in Nairobi County and then progressively spread to other counties across the country to provide employment opportunities in line with the Kenya Kwanza administration’s Bottom-up Economic Transformation,” President Ruto stated.
“After one month we shall include all the other remaining counties in the programme because we want to have about 200,000 youths dealing with the environmental issues.”
The Climate WorX Mtaani is a National Government climate action and livelihoods initiative that is similar to the former Kazi Mtaani program.
The program will engage young people in environmental sustainability projects, focusing on enhancing climate resilience.
