The acquisition marks a new chapter for the pioneering automotive manufacturer, which has been at the forefront of producing rugged, locally assembled vehicles tailored to Kenya’s unique terrain.
Founded over 14 years ago with an investment of approximately KES 5 billion, Mobius Motors has built a strong reputation in Kenya’s automotive sector. Under Silver Box’s leadership, the company is set to continue its growth trajectory, reinforcing its commitment to producing high-quality, locally manufactured vehicles.
Operations Resume with Plans for New Model Launch
Following the acquisition, Silver Box has reopened Mobius Motors’ service center, resuming maintenance and support services for existing vehicles. Full-scale production and manufacturing are expected to be in full operation by July 2025, focusing on the Mobius 3 model. Additionally, a newly developed 4×4 off-road SUV is set to be launched by December 2025, further strengthening the company’s product lineup.
Leadership Transition: John Kavila Appointed COO
As part of the transition, Silver Box’s Consultant and Transaction Advisor, Mr. Shabbir Jivanjee, has appointed Mr. John Kavila as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Mobius Motors. Kavila brings extensive expertise in manufacturing, operations, and customer service, positioning him as a key driver in the company’s strategic expansion.
