KCB sponsors Kenya amputee football federation

The Kenya Amputee Football Federation has landed a major sponsorship boost from KCB Bank ahead of the high-stakes National Trials set for May 24–25, 2025, at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST).

The trials will be pivotal in selecting Kenya’s national amputee football teams for two major continental showdowns – the Confederation of East and Central Africa Amputee Football (CECAA)  Championship in Bujumbura, Burundi this August, and the Confederation of Africa Amputee Football  (CAAF) Women’s Cup of Nations scheduled for November in Sierra Leone.

Speaking during the cheque handover ceremony at Kencom, KCB Marketing Manager, Brand Experience Winnie Onyanch said: “We’re proud to support the growth of inclusive sports in Kenya. This partnership reflects our commitment to empowering talent, breaking barriers, and championing diversity across all fields of play.”

During the two-day high-intensity trials, KCB further demonstrated its commitment to inclusivity by donating playing kits to six participating teams, alongside 10 footballs and other essential gear. The gesture underscores the bank’s dedication to empowering differently-abled individuals and leveling the playing field in sports.

Kenya Amputee Football Federation President Bernard Odhiambo welcomed the support, saying:

“This sponsorship from KCB is a huge morale boost for our players and the entire federation. It not only enables us to conduct high-quality trials but also sends a powerful message that talent knows no limits. With this backing, we’re confident Kenya will shine on the continental stage.”

The Kenya Amputee Football Federation is a National Sports Federation for Persons with Disabilities, duly registered by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Arts, State Department for Sports under the office of the Registrar of Sports.
