Passenger shows dirty, torn KQ seats, missing life vests, broken accessories

A passenger shot a video of her experience aboard a Kenya Airways flight and the experience was not good at all. In fact, it turned out to be an embarrassing show not only for the national carrier but for Kenya as well.

In the video that was seen by Bizna Kenya, the passenger can be seen showing dirty and torn KQ seats. In the video, KQ’s life vests are also missing. The passenger pulls the pouch reserved for the life vest on her seat and it is empty.

She then shows the light and air conditioning buttons above her seat. They are broken and non-functioning.

Co-Op post

“Kenya Airways gave us trauma bonding… where safety is our priority is just a suggestion!” she remarked.

Despite the bad state of some of the accessories in the plane, the passenger gave credit to the pilots and the cabin crew of the airline when she was asked by a netizen if she arrived safely. “Yes [I arrived] so safe and the inflight crew was incredible!” she said.

The video attracted a wide range of comments from Kenyans, most of whom appeared to suggest that it had become a norm for the national airline to embarrass the country.

“Myself I can’t comment because I would rather use British Airways than Kenya Airways. I am a Kenyan but patriotism is not stupidity; expose impunity!” said Nelly.

“Don’t get me started on their flights being delayed!” said Renee.

Others, though, were of the opinion that the passenger should have been grateful that she arrived safely.

“You arrived safely, right? Lady, what matters is safe arrival!” John commented.

“Welcome to Kenya. We will fix that soon!” Connie commented sarcastically.

“It’s only this aircraft [that’s problematic]… We are buying new ones!” Mike said sarcastically.
