Kilimani murder: More damning evidence discovered

Detectives investigating the Kilimani murder of Kevin Omwenga have unearthed more damning evidence that might complicate things for the suspects Chris Obure and Robert Bodo.

This follows a raid to Obure’s office by detectives. According to DCI boss George Kinoti, a raid at the office located at Senteu Plaza on Galana Road on Thursday saw detectives discover guns that were hidden in a safe. “We are investigating to establish the truth. This is shocking and cruel,” Kinoti said.

The weapons include a pistol and a shotgun. This comes barely days after the pistol that was used in Omwenga’s murder was discovered at the offices. The pistol was identified as a Ceska Pistol serial number B156623. Obure has an office on the first floor of Santeu Plaza, which is next to the late Omwenga’s residence at Galana Suites.

Both Ouko and Obure were on Saturday morning (August 22) arrested and taken to Kilimani Police Station. They were presented in court on Monday and remanded for 12 days to pave way for investigations.

It is suspected that Omwenga, Bodo and Obure were at Glo Jet’s offices on the first floor for the better part of Friday. They then retreated to Mr Omwenga’s house to celebrate what detectives believe was a fake gold deal they had executed.

Incidentally, Obure has previously been caught up in gun incidents and arrested for threatening to shoot people dead around Kilimani area.
