A Look at the New CFAO “Beast” Coming to Kenya

CFAO Motors, previously known as Toyota Kenya, earlier this month unveiled its third consecutive sponsorship for the upcoming WRC Safari Rally.

As part of the sponsorship, the company will unveil a range of Toyota models during the rally, some of which will be available for sale.

Among them is the Toyota GR Hilux fielded by Toyota Gazoo Racing in last year’s Dakar Rally held in Saudi Arabia.

“This year, in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the WRC Safari Rally, CFAO Motors Kenya will commemorate this special occasion by preparing an additional five GR Hilux Safari Rally Limited edition units that will be for sale,’’

The Beast is the first-ever Dakar Rally competition car to be presented in Kenya. It is powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine pulled from the latest Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport.

The GR DKR Hilux T1+ engine puts out 298kW of power and 660Nm of torque. The relentless surge of power effortlessly propels the vehicle to effortless victories in the Dakar Rally and World Rally Raid Championship events.

Its all-terrain tyres allow it to conquer uneven surfaces, deep mud, and rocky terrains with ease. Toyota has played an integral part in the history of the Safari, winning in 10 editions.

Last year, the Toyota GR team achieved a remarkable podium finish, securing the top four positions. The company ships in a special car every year to activate its publicity program.
