Aden Duale reelected as Garissa Township MP

Former leader of majority Aden Duale has been reelected as the Garissa Township MP.

Duale, who was contesting on a UDA party ticket won the seat after garnering 9,905 votes against ODM’s Nasir Dolal who got 5,972 votes.

In the presidential contest in Garissa, Raila Odinga emerged victorious over DP Ruto in Garissa town.

Projections showed that Raila was also poised to win the presidential vote in the whole of Garissa County.

As at Thursday at 5am, projections showed that Raila was in the lead within Duale’s constituency with 16, 718 votes against Dr. Ruto’s 7,904 votes.

Within Garissa county, Raila Odinga was still ahead with 53,431 votes against Dr. Ruto’s 16,172 votes marking a major upset for one of Dr. Ruto’s strong allies.
