A Kenyan man resulted to crying, screaming and wailing loudly in public after losing loan money to a Nairobi agent who had allegedly promised him a fake Canada job.
In the video, the man claimed that he had borrowed Sh. 60,000 to pay the agent who he identified as Worth Start. Amidst sobs and wailing outside the Worth Start offices, he said that he was from Kiambu County and had been promised a sponsored job in Canada.
“They said there were so many jobs in Canada including jobs for drivers. I borrowed Sh. 60,000 to pay them and up until now I have never been taken to Canada,” he said, adding that the agency has been holding the money since January this year yet they never processed his work visa application as they had claimed.
The man joined a growing number of Kenyans who are falling victim to notorious agents in Nairobi who have been purporting to be Canadian immigration representatives.
Currently, there are no licensed Canadian immigration representatives in Kenya. There are however two Kenyan citizens who also hold Canadian citizenship and who reside in Canada who have been licensed by the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) to act as immigration representatives.
The two are Loise Githiga of Milele Immigration Services and Mbula Kalorina of Makland Canadian Immigration Services.

According to the IRCC and the CICC regulations, agents claiming to take people to Canada or facilitate visa applications are partaking in an illegal activity.
The IRCC cautions that the use of illegal agents such as the ones who have set camp in various major cities in Kenya such as Nairobi, Mombasa and Nakuru could result in the applicant getting banned for a period of five years.
The names, credentials and license statuses for all licensed and active Canadian immigration representatives can be searched for free online on the CICC website.
An investigation by Bizna Kenya has revealed that rogue agents in Nairobi have been baiting unsuspecting Kenyans with fake jobs in Canada who have been losing hundreds if thousands of cash in the process.
The agents have also been accused of applying dumping applicants in Canadian streets for asylum claims using visit visas.
