Andrew Kibe Radio: Former Kiss FM breakfast show co-host Andrew Kibe has revealed the difficulties he faced after losing his job at Kiss FM. In an interview with a local news outlet, Kibe said that after leaving Kiss, things did not go as he had planned.
Kiss was a big job for him that brought in big money. Once this job and the huge income were gone, Kibe lost his car and house in quick succession.
“2020 ilikuwa imeniokota bruh (The year 2020 was hard one for me), I lost my moti (car), I lost the house I was living in, I was homeless for a moment,” he said.
Kibe said that he tried to reach out to friends but they were not very willing to rescue him. “When I left Kiss FM my friends thought I had been fired and did not want to help. All the calls and texts I was getting stopped coming,” he said. Kibe has previously been caught up in debt problems with friends.
The media personality who is considered controversial in some quarters said that he tried to pitch business ideas to potential investors but none was willing to commit funds. he finally partnered with a friend and founded an internet radio known as Rogue Radio in November last year. “Rogue Radio has a very progressive content strategy which allows us the creative freedom you would normally not see in the mainstream radio stations. We play the music that you won’t hear elsewhere as well as discuss topics others are afraid of tackling. Internet radio is the future of this industry,” he said on his radio venture.
Kibe’s departure from Kiss FM where he hosted the morning show with Kamene Goro was largely seen as an act of firing. Word on the street was that he was fired to pave way for popular comedian Jalang’o who now co-hosts the morning show with Ms. Goro. Andrew Kibe Radio.
