Mashujaa Day is one of the biggest public holidays in Kenya, always marked with many activities. The day is celebrated on 20th October every year to commemorate the country’s great heroes who fought for freedom from colonial rule.

During this day, many businesses, as well as government offices, remain closed. Some families and friends also take this opportunity to reunite, especially when the day falls on a Friday.

And just like other public holidays, Mashujaa Day is always marked with lots of food, fun, and laughter. People move to various peaceful escapes to refresh themselves from the hustle and bustle of the city.
