How many times would you reapply for a visa after getting denied? How many times would you reapply when visa application fees are quite high as is the case with the US visa?

Well, for one Kenyan living in the US, it took four times to get the highly coveted US visa. The Kenyan, Bob Mwiti, shared that he started applying for the US visa in 2001.

However, it was not until 2009 that he finally moved to the US. Mwiti, who kow runs a program that takes Kenyans looking to study at the Masters and doctorate level to the US further shared how he has found the US study visa easier to get than the Canadian and UK study visas.

Here is what Mwiti, who is the founder of the Kenya Airlift Program shared:

“I actually find the US immigration laws way much more accommodative than Canada and the UK.

This year Canada has just put a cap on the number of student visas they can give to international students.

This will reduce visa approvals by more than 30 per cent world wide.

Last Fall, having tried Canada as an alternative destination for The KENYA Airlift Program, I actually find the process of getting their student visas much more difficult.

In my opinion, adjudicating a visa case, based purely on just documents as is the case of Canada and UK is flawed. I prefer appearing for a face-face interview.

Students are also required to deposit huge amount of school fees before they can even apply for a visa!!
