As December 25 approaches, the world is gearing up for the joyous celebration of Christmas with different people infusing their distinctive charm into the festivities.
Besides the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, Christmas is known for bringing people together to commemorate the blessings of the entire year, cherishing the essence of family and indulging in delectable treats.
During this special season of sharing, people flock to shopping centres to shop for various goods with retailers experiencing a massive sales boost.
In a bid t ease the entire shopping process, the Co-operative Bank of Kenya has formulated a series of ways through which shoppers can save time and money when shopping for Christmas.

M-Pesa Paybill 400200
The first step is through the Co-op Bank’s mobile platforms. Sending money from M-Pesa to a retailer’s Co-operative Bank account through paybill number 400222 is free. Additionally, once you have sent money, it will immediately reflect on the merchant’s account.
MCo-op Cash Mobile app
If you have a smart phone, you may opt to download the MCo-op Cash mobile app from you phone’s play store.
The mobile app will allow you to access your Co-operative Bank account for free, and will enable you to easily transfer funds for free.
By using the app, you will not have to physically withdraw money or write a banker’s cheque.
One can either dial *667# or download the MCo-op Cash App to access the service.
Co-op Kwa Jirani
In the same breathe, instead of walking into a bank, you may use a Co-op kwa Jirani banking agent. Banking at a Co-op Kwa Jirani agent is as good as banking at a Co-op bank branch.
Co-op ATM Cards
Co-op Bank payment cards include Credit Cards, Debit Cards, and Prepaid cards. With any of this, you can withdraw cash at any Visa-branded ATM, or pay for goods & services in a physical outlet or online.
There’s no charge for making payments with your Card. The only amount which is deducted from the card is the cost of the item or service you are paying for.
However, if you withdraw cash using the card, you will be charged a commission up-front, which is immediately deducted from your available card limit.
You don’t need to go and queue at an ATM to withdraw cash when you need to shop or make a payment. You can pay directly in an outlet that has Point of Sales (POS) machine.
