In April 2020, Waruru also contributed his expertise as a member of the Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund, a role he continues to serve to date.

Son of Former Nyeri MP
Unknown to many, Waruru Wachira is the son of Former Nyeri MP, Waruru Kanja. His father served during the Late president Moi’s regime for a long period.
Kanja was briefly the Minister for Information and Broadcasting in the 1980s. Sadly, he passed away on December 13th, 2013 at the age of 83.
