Co-op Bank eases banking with new MCo-op Cash mobile App

Co-operative Bank has launched a new mobile application in a effort to ease how customers bank.

The mobile app dubbed MCo-op Cash enables customers to access their account balances, transfer cash from their MCo-op Cash account to mobile phone money platforms such as MPesa and Airtel Money.

“The app also allows customers to access airtime purchase from the MCo-op Cash account,” adds a statement from co-operative Bank.

Customers will also be able to check balances and withdraw money from the Co-op bank ATMs using the app.  “This will include the ability to withdraw cash from Co-op Kwa Jirani agents.”

The mobile phone application is easy to download, taking only 9.1 megabytes.

Additional services available on the mobile phone include:

1). Paying rent.

2). Paying school fees.

3). Paying bills such as KPLC power bills, Nairobi Water Company bills, Zuku, DSTV, and StarTimes bills, and Safaricom post-paid bills.

4). Transferring money to and from your Co-op Account or SACCO Account

5).  Processing of bulk payments

6). Applying ad paying of loans.

7).Checking balances and getting statements.

8). Activating SMS alerts for debits and credits.

Interestingly, customers with salary accounts are managed by Co-operative Bank will be able to access loans of up to 150 per cent of their net salary.

These loans will be charged a monthly interest rate of 1.16 per cent. Additionally, they will attract no hidden charges such as facilitation fees or processing fees.
