Father: my daughter stole and borrowed Sh. 3 million to make Louis Otieno happy

An inquest into the death of former Kenya Power employee and the girlfriend of former TV anchor Louis Otieno Ms Careen Chepchumba, has heard that she stole and borrowed money amounting to over Sh. 3 million and gave it to Mr. Otieno to make him happy.

This was alleged yesterday by Careen Chepchumba’s father Hosea Kili. Mr. Kili claimed Sh. 3 million from her father’s friends and close family members, which he gave to Loius Otieno to make him happy.

Mr. Kili further claimed that his daughter had resorted to stealing his money from their house, which she then gave to Louis. “I later learnt that Careen was stealing my money. When I asked her, she admitted that she stole to pay Mr Otieno’s house rent, his upkeep and pay hospital bills,” he said.

Ms Chepchumba, 26, was found lying dead on her bed at Santonia Court, off Kirichwa Road in Kilimani, Nairobi, on February 14, 2012.
