Dennis Wambugu: IT expert helping businesses thrive through creative visuals

Dennis Wambugu did not see the need for learning design and design tools like canva until five years ago when he wanted to  enhance his CV to make it visually appealing.

What began as a personal project quickly grew into a passion for creating impactful designs that tell compelling stories.

As he honed his skills, he realized the transformative power of design in shaping perceptions and conveying messages effectively.

This inspiration led to the establishment of Visual Telling, a graphic design agency dedicated to helping businesses and individuals communicate their ideas through creative visuals.

“As a freelance graphic designer, I specialize in creating impactful visuals using Canva, including logos, marketing materials, and social media designs, while also training over 200 professionals in graphic design principles,” he says.

Others are Certificate Design, Roll-Up Banner Design, Digital Content Creation, Animated Designs and Social Media Video Editing.

“Visual Telling specializes in combining creative visuals with strategic communication to meet both individual and business needs,” he adds.

From his entrepreneurial journey, Wambugu has learned valuable lessons that he believes can be helpful to any aspiring entrepreneur.

“Embrace continuous learning, as adapting to new tools and techniques will keep you ahead in your field. Embrace Failure as a Learning Opportunity: Not every project or decision goes as planned. I’ve learned to view setbacks as lessons and stepping stones to success,” he says.

“Focus on Building Relationships: Whether it’s with clients, collaborators, or mentors, building strong relationships is key to growing your business. Network, seek feedback, and be open to constructive criticism. Know Your Worth: Pricing your services appropriately is crucial. Don’t undervalue your skills, but also understand the market,” Wambugu adds.

He advices people intending to venture into business to stay focused, be resilient, and keep their passion alive.

“Entrepreneurship is a journey, not a destination, so be prepared to evolve as you grow. Keep learning, stay consistent, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when needed,’ Wambugu advises.
