StarTimes Kenya has launched an app that will enable viewers to access content from the comfort of their mobile phones. The app comes hot on the heels of the on-going Copa America which kicked off on June 3, with a match between hosts United States (US) versus Colombia.
Interestingly, with the new app, football fans will now be able to watch live matches, check match fixtures, highlights, and even chat.
This follows the acquisition of exclusive broadcasting rights for the Copa America tournament by StarTimes. The tournament, which is celebrating 100 years since inception, will conclude on June 26.
To down load the app, you can go straight to your Google Play portal on your mobile phone or log on to www.startimestv.com
Interestingly, subscribers may also purchase affordable packages through which they can also catch the football action and multiple television programs on StarTimes. Currently, the lowest bouquet dubbed Basic Bouquet is going for Sh. 499 while the Classic Bouquet and the Unique Bouquet are retailing at Sh. 999 and Sh. 1,499 respectively.
Earlier in March, StarTimes cut its monthly subscription fees for two of its premium bouquets by up to 40 per cent, with both Super bouquet and Unique Bouquets falling to Sh. 1,499 each from Sh. 2,499 and Sh. 2,099 respectively. Other bouquets on StarTimes include Nyota which retails at Sh. 199 and Smart which goes for Sh. 899.
According to Mark Lisboa, the StarTimes vice president, the new app and cheap subscription packages are tailored to ensure that none of the existing and potential subscribers miss out. “We are looking at bringing the world’s most talented football players I all our subscribers’ households,” he says.
