The Wicked Edition talk show that aired on NTV has exited the Nation Media Group (NMG) owned station after a seven-year run.
Announcing the exit on Friday, the show producer, writer, and host Felix Omondi, popularly known as Dr King’ori, said The Wicked Edition aired its last edition on NTV on Friday, 12 January 2024.
“Since its inception, The Wicked Edition has grown to be the satire show par excellence in Kenya. Your patronage propelled us to great heights earning us recognition at the prestigious Kalasaha Awards and a nomination as the best performing TV comedy and the best TV comedy in Kenya for the upcoming 2024 edition,” Dr King’ori said.
He noted that since its inception, the show clocked over 300 episodes and over 70 million views on YouTube, making it the longest-running satire show on Kenyan television.
Amid many speculations surrounding his exit, Dr King’ori cleared the air maintaining that it was a personal decision.
Some speculated that the exit may have been necessitated by NTV’s suspension of all editorial shows, while others suspected a possible fallout with bosses.

“The Wicked Edition is not an editorial show, and our relationship with NTV has been nothing but the best. “
“For the ten years I have been with Nation, I leave with nothing but the good vibes. The decision that this be our last episode at NTV is purely personal,” Dr King’ori said.
He, however, did not reveal his next move but urged his followers to follow his YouTube channel for updates.
“This journey, while ending with NTV Kenya, is set for a new beginning as we expand our reach, venture into greater creative endeavors, and continue delivering value-laden content to our fans across East Africa and beyond.”
“And as we chart new courses and explore fresh narratives, we invite you to join us through the plot twists. Thank you for being a part of our story. Here’s to turning a new page together with anticipation for the countless stories yet to be told,” Dr King’ori said.
