Cambridge cancels exam results for all students at Nairobi's Light International School

Examination results for all students who sat their IGCSE, AS, and A Level examinations at the Light International School in Nairobi have been canceled. The examination results were canceled in a decision that was communicated to the school by the Cambridge Assessment International Education.

Following the cancellation, Light International School says in a communication to parents that it has launched an appeal. However, the school has also issued an advisory to parents that the affected students should prepare and be enrolled for examination retakes during the October-November 2024 examination series.

“We have initiated the appeal process… and have engaged two legal teams in Kenya and the United Kingdom. The formal appeal was lodged on August 9, 2024 and we anticipate a response from Cambridge within 28 days from that date,” the school said in a statement.

“Given the expected duration of the appeal process, we believe it is in the best interest of the students to arrange for retakes of the examinations.”

The school says that it will cover all the costs of exam registration and preparation for all students retaking the exams. In addition, the school shall provide the students with an exam centre and a revision program for free.

“The Nairobi Academy has been identified as the place where the students can sit their exams in October-November 2024 as the appeal process continues,” Light International stated.

“The school has decided to cover all the full costs of exam registration and preparation for all students retaking the exams.”
