Well-wishers have rescued a Murang’a man, identified as Francis Murigu, from a cave and gifted him a house after being abandoned by his family.
The beautiful two-bedroom, fully furnished stone house was allegedly built by YouTuber Samuel Wanyoike, widely known as Wanyoike wa Mugure and his team.
“Murigu’s house is done..who is like God? Finally, we did through the help of God! Murigu will have such a beautiful home.. help me celebrate our God,” Wanyoike stated
This was after a clip showing Murigu in a desperate state by the roadside went viral on social media. The heartbreaking clip forced Murigu to locate and assist the struggling man.

It is alleged that Murigu moved to the streets after developing mental problems. This was one of the reasons his wife and other kids had forsaken him decades ago, leaving him to live in a cave with only one of his children, who stood by his side through the years.
However, through the help of Wanyoike, Murigu was able to receive treatment and care for more than three months at Mathari Mental Hospital. His children, whom they parted ways many years ago, rejoined him during the ceremony.
“I have been conducting therapy sessions with the children, and it’s a complex situation as they were very young when their dad’s mental health deteriorated. They spent the better part of their lives with their mother before she passed away, leading to a lack of connection between them and their father.” Wanyoike added.
