Highly successful people believe in risk taking. Risks should be taken in line with you goals or your company’s goals. Budget carefully keeping in mind that profits may or may not be realized. Make a plan on how you will recover your losses should they occur. Also, remember that risks can take a long time to bring profit. Categorize them on a long term or short term basis.

You may have a detailed plan and budget for your business, but your resources, timing, among other factors will determine the magnitude of your success. They learn about new cultures and look for ways to turn great stories into businesses.
4. Procrastination is a habit that kills ideas
If you are inspired to do something, act on it immediately. Procrastination delays action. If you do not act on an idea, that’s all it will ever be, an idea.
5. Network in a smart manner rather than widely
Highly successful people believe in lasting connections rather than many connections. It does not make sense to fill your address book with contacts that will not help you further your business. It is better to have a few contacts who will create a lasting impact for your business.
6. Negativity is powerful
A positive mind is a healthy mind. Negativity often creates doubt. If you doubt yourself, you are unlikely to follow through with any ideas. Surround yourself with people who believe in you, encourage you or applaud you for the smallest of your achievements.
7. Be a servant
Successful people are servants of those below them. They advice to always follow, never lead, unless only by example. Learn to serve and create opportunities for your employees to better themselves and they will in turn work better for you. Seek to empower people with skills that will change their lives forever, resulting in a changed world. Aim to create a difference in people’s lives other than money in your pocket.
8. No man is an island
No one can do it all by themselves. Highly successful people understand the need for maintaining healthy relationships amongst themselves to ensure smooth running of their businesses. You need to be around people to know what’s happening and/or what’s new. How will people know about your products or services if you keep to yourself?
9. You will get lost following crowds
When one gets into business, they know what’s best for them. Highly successful people believe that following crowds can be detrimental to business as it hinders independence and creativity. People choose certain paths because they know they will work best for them. Businesses are tailored differently. What works for you may not work for another person.
