The Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced that it will release grade 10 placement results by Friday, December 18.
Speaking on Wednesday, at the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) National Delegates Conference at the Kasarani Gymnasium in Nairobi, Education Principal Secretary Julius Bitok said the placements apply to learners transitioning to Grade 10 in 2026 under the Competency-Based Education (CBE) system.
Candidates will be able to check the senior schools they have been placed in by sending an SMS with their KNEC assessment number to 22263.
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba had earlier said that the grade 10 placement will be passed on the four career pathways CBC; STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Social Sciences and Arts, and Sports Sciences.
According to the CS, 59.09 percent of the learners who sat the 2025 KJSEA demonstrated the potential to pursue the STEM pathways, while 46.25 percent are fit to pursue the Social Sciences.
At the same time, 48.73 percent had shown the capability to pursue the Arts and Sports Sciences pathway.
Individual 2025 KJSEA Assessment results can be accessed online through the link https://kjsea.knec.ac.ke. Learners are required to enter their assessment number and any one of the name (s) as per the registration data for the 2025 KJSEA Assessment.
Grade 10 admission
Learners joining grade 10 are set to report to their assigned schools on January 12, 2026.
Admission letters and joining instructions are accessed online using the learner’s assessment number. All schools, both public and private, are required to admit Grade 10 learners through the Kenya Education Management Information System (KEMIS).
“No principal shall enter a learner into KEMIS before he/she reports to the school physically. Daily online reporting shall be monitored through KEMIS,” the ministry stated.
