John Demathew’s 1st wife Sarafina wins inheritance fight against 2nd wife

John Demathew's 1st wife Sarafina wins inheritance fight against 2nd wife

A protracted and bitter battle between late popular musician John Demathew’s wives has ended in victory for the first wife.

This was revealed by Carolyne Demathew who was the late singer’s second wife.

“About the court, yes she (Sarafina) won and there’s always a winner and a loser,” Carolyne said in response to a fan’s query on Facebook about their property court case. It was, however, not clear why Carolyne conceded with a judgement yet to still be rendered by the High Court.

Apparently, the second wife of Demathew and Sarafina, his first wife have been fighting over money and property that was left behind by the musician who died in a road accident in 2019.

The duo had been sharing proceeds from the late singer’s YouTube channel until sometime between 2021 and 2022 when Carolyne opened her own YouTube channel.

Sarafina is reported to have then blocked her from accessing funds from the late singer’s account. She alleges that she was also kicked out of a house she had been sharing with Demathew.

According to the second wife, reconciliation attempts were made without much sucess. This prompted her to seek legal redress at the High Court. However, even as the case goes on, she appears to have resigned to the fate that she has lost the inheritance battle to Sarafina.

“I swear Njogu was your friend. He has been checking up on me and your little Mathew, Simba. I wish you knew how your family treated me as well after your demise. They even threw me out of our house, where I gave birth to your son,” Carolyne posted recently, adding that a majority of the late singer’s friends had abandoned them.

In the period that followed the death of the singer, Sarafina and Carolyne had protrayed a picture of unity, leaving many to wonder if it was possible for the two widows to co-exist in the absence of a matrimonial division Will.
