KCPE marking is now 35 per cent complete, says Magoha

KCPE Marking: The cabinet secretary in the Ministry of Education, Professor George Magoha has announced that the KCPE examination results will be released in good time despite the ongoing lock down. The minister said that currently, the marking of the examination is over 35 per cent complete.

This is barely a week after the examination was concluded.  CS Magoha made the announcement days after the Principal Secretary in the ministry, Julian Jwan, said that both electronic and manual marking of the examination had already started.

Mr. Jwan said the marking is being conducted by 7,000 teachers contracted by the Kenya National Examination Council. “We’ve begun marking the KCPE exam and are very impressed in the manner the examination was run. We definitely expect the same for the KCSE exam,” he said.

This year’s primary examinations have faced sharp criticism after it emerged that the Kenya National Examination Council had lifted questions from textbooks that had already been availed to private schools. KCPE Marking.
