Former Directorate of Criminal Investigations boss George Kinoti had landed a new job with the Public Service Commission.
The new job comes barely two weeks after he resigned as the DCI boss following the coming to power of the new government led by President William Ruto.

Under his new job, Kinoti will be entitled to a salary and personal benefits until his retirement. This indicates that the new PSC job is permanent and pensionable.
Kinoti will remain with remuneration and privileges personal to himself, with effect from September 27 2022 until attainment of mandatory retirement age.
The move has been ratified by the National Police Commission, indicating that Kinoti resigned as the DCI boss but remained a serving member of the national police service.
After the inauguration of President Ruto, it became a matter of when and not if Kinoti would leave the top DCI job. He was widely perceived to be biased in his investigations by the political alliance associated with President Ruto.
For instance, during the hearing of the presidential petition at the Supreme Court, part of the alleged evidence that was presented before the court by the Azimio la Umoja coalition had been prepared by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations under DCI Kinoti.
