The family of a Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) student who was set to graduate on December 7, 2023 is in shock after the student died on his graduation day. His death is suspected to have been caused by suicide.
The student was found dead by a watchman on the morning he was supposed to be at Kasarani for the KMTC graduation ceremony. He was found at their home at Chepseon area in Kipkelion East.
According to a report that appeared in Royal Media Service’s Citizen Tv, the student is suspected to have died by suicide after injecting himself with an unknown drug.
“In the morning, the watchman went to check on him but was shocked after discovering the student lying unconscious in bed with a syringe stuck in his hand,” Citizen reported.
An officer who was quoted by the media house said that the student’s father who is a clinician at a local hospital had given the student Sh. 15,000 for his graduation.
The officer said that on the eve of the graduation, the student had gone to a watchman who was guarding their houses around the Chepseon market and requested for a key to one of the houses. It is alleged that he claimed he wanted to take a rest. The watchman gave him the keys.
