The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced the recruitment of secondary school teachers and college tutors as assessors for KCSE oral and practical papers.
In a notice on Tuesday, June 10, KNEC invited qualified candidates to apply for the roles before the end of July 30, 2025.
“The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) wishes to recruit Secondary School teachers/ College tutors as assessors for KCSE oral and practical papers between 10th June and 30th July 2025.
“The selected professionals will be trained on the job during assessment of the 2025 KCSE examination papers. Teachers/Tutors who are already in the KNEC database of assessors need not apply,” the notice read in part.
The subjects open for assessment include Power Mechanics, Electricity, Aviation Technology, French Oral, German Oral, Arabic Oral, Kenyan Sign Language Signing Practical, and Music Practical.
Interested applicants must be practicing teachers or tutors in the relevant subject area, registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or a recognized professional body.
Additionally, applicants must hold a Diploma or a higher qualification in Education or in the relevant specialty.

Other requirements include being 50 years of age or below, with at least three years of teaching experience to ensure adequate classroom competence. Candidates must also not be under interdiction or facing any disciplinary action at the time of application.
For Aviation Technology, applicants must have a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering.
How to Apply
Applicants are required to access the KNEC examiners’ portal using the link https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke.
Those with CP2 accounts should log in to the portal using their usernames and passwords.
Applicants without CP2 accounts are required to click the “Create Account” button and follow the instructions to acquire login credentials.
Those who have forgotten their CP2 passwords should click the Reset Password button and enter their mobile number in the format (2547********) and submit to get new passwords for logging into the portal.
Upon successful login, applicants should navigate to the dashboard and click on ‘Apply for Assessors’ Vacancies’ to view and select from all available openings
Only applicants who meet all criteria and submit the necessary documents will be shortlisted.
