The Kenya Revenue Authority has declared a mass auction of numerous assets, including 113 unclaimed vehicles, considered to have remained at the Port of Mombasa for an extended period.
An official statement by KRA stated that the mass auction proceedings will commence at Kilindini Harbour in Mombasa County on October 4, 2023.
Cumulatively, there are 113 vehicles including Toyota models such as Prados, Land Cruisers, Corolla, Hiace, Double Cabin, Condor station wagon, and Hilux.
KRA has also included several high-end vehicle models in the auction, including Mercedes Benz, Nissan March, Nissan Note, Nissan X-trail, Subaru Forester, Volkswagen Tiguan, and a Peugeot 504.

Similarly, other items scheduled for auction at the harbor will include cooking oil jerry cans, drum bitumen, brake pads accessories, offload package tires, and a variety of household items.
How to bid
Individuals interested in inspecting these items can do so during KRA office hours on October 2nd and October 3rd. The items are currently located at the Customs Warehouse.
Bidders have also been instructed to submit their documents to KRA on or before the sale date. The ultimate auction will take place on October 4th.
Sources within KRA have indicated that the auction prices for each item will be set at reasonable levels. Highest bidders will have the opportunity to walk away with their chosen items.
