2023 has seen the full-fledged introduction into the market of the LG Electronics highly acclaimed C3 and G3 OLED televisions. If you are looking for value for your money and the experience of a lifetime from a modern, high tech ultra smart television, these are the designs to buy.
Why, you might ask?! These designs have been tailor made to improve on the 2022 models. They come with new audio features, and higher brightness. The C3 and G3 are powered by LG’s new Alpha 9 AI Processor Gen 6.
At the same time, LG has made design changes to the WebOS operating system. The WebOS 2023 has been refined to be more efficient, with a reduction in the number of pages that display content, from three to two.
Interestingly, this reduction in home screen content has been achieved through the introduction of folders known as Quick Cards. These Quick Cards are designed to group together related features and apps making them easier to access.

In addition to this, LG has introduced a new Personalized Picture Wizard in both the G3 and C3. This is a picture set-up process that has been designed to help the user get their preferred picture settings without the need to go into the tv’s menu.
Here, the user is presented with 6 sets of images, each corresponding to an area of picture performance, such as colour saturation, sharpness and brightness. The user gets to pick two from each set and at the end the screen’s image is calibrated to their preferences.
With LG’s high rating in offering 4K OLEDs, the C3 and G3 OLED have taken the lead with a clear cut upgrade. This entails enhanced picture processing and thorough feature sets.
The G3 features a new Micro Lens Array panel, and it works by redirecting light that would be reflected off the screen back towards the viewer, producing higher peak brightness (up to 2100 nits) and wider viewing angles.
The G3 OLED has a size range of 42 to 97 inches. It is primarily built to be wall-mounted. It does not come with traditional stands for placement on AV furniture but comes with a wall bracket for hoisting on the wall. To enhance this, the G3 is a slim, attractive TV with “Zero Gap” mount. This allows it to sit at flush level against the wall with a special cut-out on the back of the TV chassis. Nonetheless, there is a stand available for the G3, as an extra option you can go for if you’re not in favour of wall mounting.
With the LG C3 OLED LG Electronics is offering customers the optional Dolby Atmos soundbar (the SC9). This has been specifically designed to integrate perfectly with the C3, with the most suitable fitting in the 55-inch and 65-inch versions. Both the C3 and G3 get the same remote control as last year.
Interestingly, LG has the ‘Alpha Reality’ package with new features such as AI Super Upscaling Pro. This feature is designed to enhance any content that has lower than 4K resolution and also reduce noise levels without interfering with intentional picture grain. OLED Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro allows the G3 and C3 to break the image up into 20,000 blocks, or zones. The previous Alpha 9 Gen 5 processor found in the 2022 C2 model could only manage 5,000 blocks.
The G3 and C3 have four HDMI 2.1 inputs that support 4K/120Hz, ALLM and VRR. While not directly confirmed, we believe that Dolby Vision gaming is once again supported right up to 4K/120Hz, and that the HGiG mode, which results in more accurate HDR tone mapping with many games, returns.
