A report appearing on Bizna Kenya had stated that Asad Khan who was assaulted by his girlfriend Maxine Wahome had passed away.
It has since been established that he is not dead. Bizna Kenya regrets the error and pain caused by the misleading report.
Asad’s sister Safina Hussein Khan, however, said that he remains in critical condition at the hospital.
Earlier on Wednesday, Maxine was released on a cash bail of Sh. 100,000 by a magistrate court in Nairobi.
Wahome had asked Magistrate Bernard Ochoi to gag the media from covering her case. She alleged that she was the victim and not the aggressor as the police had painted.
However, the court turned down her request. Wahome was arrested on Tuesday after her boyfriend’s brother reported the incident to the police.

During the arrest, the police found blood and broken glasses at the house. Her lawyers, however, claimed that her boyfriend had hurt himself as he attacked her.
The police had asked to hold Wahome for a period of fourteen days pending the completion of investigations. However, this request was denied and Maxine Wahome was instead ordered to report at Kilimani Police Station every Thursday until the police complete their probe and, or until January 16, 2023.
The court had earlier on Wednesday heard that Khan was unable to make a statement to the police as he was admitted at the high dependency unit at Avenue Hospital fighting for his life.
