The Komarock Modern Healthcare (KMH) is among the fastest-rising healthcare facilities in Kenya, providing outstanding healthcare services through highly skilled and competent personnel and modern technology.
The facility is known for working with celebrities to promote its maternity services, positioning itself as the preferred choice for expectant mothers seeking reliable and professional maternal services.
Located along Mwangaza Road in Komarock, Nairobi, KMH was started in 2006 as a small outpatient clinic by Dr. Salesio Kamwara Nyamu, famously known as Dr. S.K. Nyamu, and his wife, Harriet Nyamu.
Mr. Nyamu, a gynaecologist, serves as the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) while his wife is the Managing Director (MD).
During a past event to launch an oxygen plant in the hospital, Dr. SK Nyamu narrated how he established the hospital while doing his internship at the Kenyatta National Hospital.
“When I was doing my internship in Kenyatta hospital, I met one of my lecturers who told me that his friend runs a pharmacy in Komarock and is looking for a doctor who can do prescriptions. I went there and met the late Dr. Ngoshi, who had a pharmacy called Destiny. He gave me a dispensing room where I would pay Sh100 every day,” he said.

He recalled how he would leave Kenyatta hospital at 5.00 pm, then head over to see patients at Komarock up to 9.00 pm.
As his shift at Komarock extended to 3.00am, Nyamu was forced to relocate, marking the start of KMH.
“It reached a point where the pharmacy couldn’t be closed since I was seeing patients up to 3.00 am. Dr Ngoshi then requested me to get a space somewhere else, hence the birth of Komarock Modern Hospital,” He added.
As his customers continued to grow, he acquired a building from his friend who was moving from Komarock to South B.
Nyamu revealed he acquired a bank loan of Sh3.9 million to buy the building and repaid the loan within one year.
He launched the hospital which was a major success and two years later, he acquired land in Utawala where he constructed another branch.
Today, the hospital has expanded to four branches, all in Nairobi (Komarock and Utawala) and Tharaka Nithi (Chuka and Kathwana) counties.
KMH majorly specialises in obstetrics and gynaecology, but they also provide all the other special attendances such as ophthalmology, dermatology, Paediatric, general surgeon, neurosurgeon, orthopaedics surgeon, ENT, Urology and Nutrition.
