Standard Media group business journalist Moses Omusolo has been murdered.

On Thursday morning, his body was discovered dumped in a ditch along Kangundo road. The 35 year old’s body was discovered with deep cut wounds on the head.

It remains unclear the circumstances that led to the killing of Mr. Moses Okiror Omusala. Police are currently investigating the matter.

Mr. Omusala was engaged and had been planning for a wedding that was set to take place in February 2023. He was a graduate of the Masinde Muliro University Class of 2013.

In the ditch where his body was discovered, was a black backpack. The bag had his personal documents which the police used to identify him.

Police believe that he was killed elsewhere and his body was later dumped in a ditch where it was found.

“The body of the deceased was taken to the morgue and currently investigations are ongoing to ascertain what might have transpired,” said the Nairobi County Police boss, Mr. Adamson Bungei.

Last year, a similar case of a journalist being murdered occurred. The deceased was a Health and Science journalist.

Gatonye Gathura who worked for Standard Media Group was found dead and his body was taken to the Naivasha Sub-County Referral Hospital morgue.

He went missing on October 21st, 2021 and was anonymously booked into the morgue as ‘an unknown male adult’ on October 26th, 2021.

Police believe that Mr. Gathura was strangled to death as a copper wire was found tied around his neck.
