The controversial Ndichu twins, Eddie and Paul Ndichu have lost millions in investment after an investor withdrew from their project. The withdrawal comes after a video was leaked showing the twin brothers beating up a woman who allegedly rejected sexual advances at the Ole Sereni Hotel.
The investor, Kepple Africa Venture, said that they will withdraw their funding from the Wapi Pay tech firm which is owned by the Ndichu twins.
In their defense on Tuesday, the twins made attempt at gas lighting by claiming that they had not assaulted the women, and had been acting in self defense while separating the women in the video from a cat fight.
“To be clear Paul and Eddie got involved in an attempt to neutralize a confrontation between two women and to defend themselves from certain aggressors. We found the story distasteful and troubling and want to firmly state that any type of behaviour involving violence against women does not reflect our values nor does it reflect those of Eddie and Paul,” Wapi Pay said. “Our understanding is that the allegations and video currently being shared on social media albeit horrific and regrettable, do not depict the true events of what transpired that night.”

In the video clip, one of the brothers is seen breaking a side mirror of a vehicle parked outside the hotel before going back to the hotel to join his brother in assaulting a woman.
One of the twins, Eddie, is the estranged husband of former Citizen Tv presenter Janet Mbugua. Janet and Eddie have two children together. Ms. Mbugua has since come out to condemn the act of violence saying she condemns all forms of gender based violence regardless of who is the perpetrator.
