Ndiritu Muriithi loses Laikipia Governor seat to UDA’s Joshua Irungu

Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi has lost his bid for a second term as Laikipia Governor, projections show.

Muriithi has lost to former Governor Joshua Irungu who was vying on a UDA party ticket.

Muriithi is allied to the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party, whose presidential flag bearer is Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.

Apart from Irungu, Governor Muriithi was also up against former deputy governor Gitonga Kabugi (Narc-Kenya) and independent candidates Mburu Kamau and John Wakaba.
