Man shoots woman in Bungoma thinking it’s Caroline Kangogo

A man in Bungoma has shot a middle age woman after suspecting that she is police fugitive Caroline Kangogo. Phanice Chemutai Juma was shot in the abdomen by Ken Muyundo at the Kiminini Market in Trans Nzoia County last night.

She was rushed to Kitale County Referral Hospital where she is undergoing treatment. An OB report that was filed at the Kitale Police Headquarters under the entry OB 26/8/7/2021 at 9:30pm says that Muyundo is a licensed firearm holder.

“Muyundo, a renowned businessman in Kitale who runs a chain of hotels dubbed Iroko, reported at the station that he had received persistent calls from an unknown woman who asked that they meet in Kiminini. The hotelier read a sinister motive in the caller and alerted police, and the Officer Commanding Station set up his team to lay a trap and establish the motive of the woman,” a report on the shooting that appeared in The Standard newspaper said.
