Former Prime Minister and opposition leader Raila Odinga will be laid to rest on Sunday, 19 October 2025, in his Bondo home.
According to the national burial committee led by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, Raila will be buried in line with his wish to be buried within 72 hours after his death.
However, given that his demise occurred outside the country, certain logistical considerations and formalities will understandably affect the timeline.
His body is expected in the country today at 9 am and will be received by President William Ruto, his family, ODM officials, military officials, and other delegates
The programme of events leading to his burial shall be as follows:
Thursday
1am- Delegation arrival in Mumbai.
2am- Departure from Mumbai
8:30am-Arrival at JKIA
10am- Lee Funeral Home
12pm – 5pm- Parliament for public viewing.
