Registering as a Glovo Rider in Kenya

Becoming a Glovo rider is a pretty straightforward process.

  1. Visit the Glovo website or download the Glovo Courier App on App Store/Google Playstore. In the app, create an account/sign in first before proceeding to make a job application.
  2. Fill in the required personal information and contact details to sign up as a Glovo rider. Make sure to double-check all details for accuracy before submitting.
  3. Submit the necessary documents for verification, such as your ID card and driver’s license.

According to Glovo, the money a rider earns depends on several factors. They include:


  • Base Rate – For every order, there is a fixed base rate that depends on the city.
  • Kilometres Covered – The more kilometres covered, the more a rider earns
  • Waiting time – After 5 minutes of waiting for a product in store, you will receive a fixed amount of money per minute
  • Extra Address – If the customer changes address after the order has been issued and accepted, an extra payment will be made for compensation
  • Variable economic promotion
  • Rainy days – An extra payment will be automatically activated if it starts raining while en route for delivery

Riders can set their own schedules, giving them the flexibility to work when it suits them. On average, riders earn between Sh. 25,000 and Sh. 40,000 per month.
